​The example below demonstrates Telerik SPRadGrid's new capability - displaying data from excel files stored in document libraries.

To point the grid to the Excel file it should be bound to, use SPRadGrid Designer from the web part menu:


From the top left tree view select the MasterTableView node (Note: hierarchy is not supported with excel binding). Click the DataBinding node from the bottom left tree view and when the SQL, Excel and SharePoint Lists explorers load - select the Excel tab:


The Excel explorer will list the document libraries in the current SharePoint web and will display only the excel files (if any) within those. Select the document library you are interested in and click on the excel file that should provide data for the grid. Upon clicking on the excel file a small panel will be displayed that allows you to specify the cell range and sheet name containing the data:


Note: it might take some time for the sheet names to load as the SharePoint Excel Service is used for that behind the scene.

The first row in the cell range selected will be treated as column names. If it is empty - the columns will be given default names. Once the range and the sheet name have been specified, just press the Save Web Part button.
